Congratulations!  You’ve decided to tie the knot!  Now take a deep breath, because after the initial excitement of the engagement has passed, the overwhelming realization of the amount of work you have to take on is going to hit. Getting married is stressful, no matter when you set your date.  My advice is to start with the big things: find your wedding location(s) and caterer.  After that, worry about the photographer/videographer, florist, and DJ/band. The most time-consuming part is going to be figuring out how you want to personalize your wedding ceremony and reception, so that it captures a bit of the blending of you and your fiancé(e)’s personalities.  Start ahead on your wedding attire, and don't let yourself get worked up!  When it comes to everything else, think first about your colors, theme, and personal style. A lot of people really love to reflect the season in their big day.  There are a ton of little things you can do to add a bit of seasonal or holiday flair to your wedding, without making it seem cheesy or themed. 

A new, hot trend is the black & white wedding with red accents.  Aside from bringing in the red with flowers, consider adding small touches of winter decorations like peppermints.  The bold red, white and black will keep your event classic and elegant. Coordinate your invitations with a design like this one:

Another idea is to incorporate holly into your floral decorations.  It is a subtle touch that brings the warmth and brilliance of the red berries and deep green leaves without overdoing it.  Try using a simple invitation with a matching, but not overbearing theme:

A great way to bring in the Fall season is to focus on the colors.  Bring in one of the warm golds, bronzes, oranges, or reds you find in Autumn leaves without making your whole event centered around fall colors.
